Discussing new AS and A Level qualifications in Cymraeg and Core Cymraeg at the National Eisteddfod
At the Wrexham National Eisteddfod, Qualifications Wales held an event discussing a consultation on new AS and A Level qualifications in Cymraeg and Core Cymraeg
The consultation invites people to contribute to shaping the future of AS and A Level qualifications in Cymraeg (Welsh) and Core Cymraeg.
The contributors to the Eisteddfod included Alex Lovell, Qualifications Manager, Qualifications Wales, Helen Prosser, Director of Learning and Teaching, The National Centre of Learning Welsh, Emily Evans, Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol ambassador, Swansea University doctoral student, Eurgain Hughes, Head of Welsh, Ysgol Morgan Llwyd, Wrexham. Ashok Ahir, Director of Communications and Engagement at Qualifications Wales chaired the event.
In the lively Qualifications Wales stand, visitors heard a discussion about the new proposals which aim to reflect contemporary Wales.
Alex Lovell, Qualifications Manager said:
"Cymraeg belongs to us all - and it is essential that the qualifications we offer reflect that. We have listened to teachers, learners and partners - now we want to hear your opinion."
