New Chair of Qualifications Wales

Qualifications Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Bevan as the new Chair of its Board, effective 1st October 2025.

Paul will succeed David Jones OBE, whose tenure as Chair concludes at the end of September.

Paul brings a wealth of experience gained within the education sector, with a proven history of leadership, organisational transformation, and board-level development across both Higher and Further Education institutions.  His notable achievements include leading a programme of significant change at Manchester Metropolitan University and transforming an Executive Directorate at Grwp Llandrillo Menai. 

In addition to his professional expertise, Paul is actively involved in the Welsh education and voluntary sectors. He serves on the boards of Aberystwyth University and Citizens Advice Flintshire and is currently Chair of the Electric Vehicle Association (EVA) Cymru.  As a fluent Welsh speaker, Paul brings a strong appreciation and understanding of the Welsh language and culture to the role.

As we welcome Paul in his new role, we look forward to building upon the strong foundations established by David and continuing to advance the work of Qualifications Wales.
