November exams get underway for learners across Wales

Learners across Wales are beginning their November exams, marking the first exam series of the 2026-2027 academic year.

The November series gives learners the opportunity to sit exams in a number of GCSE subjects.

As the independent regulator of non-degree qualifications in Wales, Qualifications Wales oversees WJEC's delivery and the awarding process. Our role involves making sure that grade boundaries are set appropriately, and standards are maintained to help promote confidence in qualifications in Wales.

While awarding bodies are responsible for setting, marking and grading exams, we work closely with them and the Welsh Government to regulate qualifications and make sure learners can have confidence that their qualifications are fair, trusted and valued.

Support is available

If you’re sitting exams this November, there is information and support available in Your Guide to Exams and Assessments 2026-2027. The guide explains how exams and assessments work and provides useful information for learners throughout the academic year.

There is also support available via the Power Up hub, which offers revision materials and guidance to help students feel confident and ready for their assessments.
