Special consideration processes in Wales

Welsh Government has announced changes to the public health guidance for learners taking exams and assessments this summer.

The guidance has been updated to reduce isolation periods to enable learners to attend their exams wherever possible. Learners will be able to attend exams after shorter self-isolation periods if they test negative for COVID-19

To support learners, schools and colleges, the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) has published updated guidance on the ’special consideration’ process for this year – including dedicated guidance for centres in Wales.

WJEC has contacted all centres across the country to let them know that the JCQ guidance is now available.

Learners, parents, schools and colleges in Wales should familiarise themselves with the ‘special consideration’ guidance in advance of the start of this summer’s exam series.
